Key Highlights
The 26th annual VA Psychology Leadership
Conference (VAPLC) is an opportunity to network, receive mentorship, and connect
with your fellow VA psychologists.
This years’ conference will be focusing on acknowledging challenges of being a
psychologist in the VA and strengths of the practice of psychology. We will be
joining forces to commit to an invigorated future with shared wisdom, knowledge,
and community partnerships, as well as leadership topics, VA Central Office
updates and priorities, and updates from APA and the field.
The conference organizers are pleased to announce that one of the featured speakers this year will be The Honorable Denis R. McDonough, Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Continuing education credits for this program are sponsored by Division 18 – Psychologists in Public Service – of the American Psychological Association. Division 18 is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists and maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
This conference is co-sponsored by the Association of VA Psychologist Leaders (AVAPL), the American Psychological Association (APA), and Division 18 of APA. Division 18: Psychologists in Public Service, the Association of Veterans Affairs Psychologist Leaders (AVAPL), and the American Psychological Association (APA), affirm our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. As leadership organizations in the discipline of psychology, it is important to state our strong stance against discriminatory policies that prevent eligible individuals and families from accessing the mental health and physical health care, or social services they need. We believe that dismantling bias, stigma and hate are foundational toward achieving health equity. The Annual VA Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas is our opportunity to demonstrate support for Texans and partner with local organizations. At this year’s conference, let us stand, be heard and offer allyship to local individuals, families and communities.
